Starry Night APE (SNAPE) is a visually striking isolation associated with the Albino Penis Envy (APE) genetic family. Starry Night is a selected APE phenotype/isolation, prized for the dramatic coloration that gives it its name.

Starry Night represents a distinctive expression selected from within the broader APE genetic family. Its defining feature is its incredible cap coloration. Mature specimens can develop deep blue, blue-gray and nearly black caps covered with contrasting pale speckles, creating an appearance reminiscent of stars scattered across a dark night sky. These dramatic caps are typically paired with the thick, dense, pale stems and compact morphology associated with APE genetics.
The Starry Night expression demonstrates exactly why careful isolation and selection matter in mycology.
