Full Metal APE (FMA) is a modern designer variety that blends the exceptional characteristics of Full Metal Ghost and Albino Penis Envy (APE) into a single, visually stunning genetic. By combining the unique coloration of the Full Metal lineage with the dense morphology and structural traits of APE, breeders created a cultivar that has quickly become a standout among contemporary mushroom genetics.

The foundation of Full Metal APE begins with Full Metal Ghost, a variety widely recognized as a cross between Steel Magnolia and Ghost. This already distinctive lineage was further refined by introducing Albino Penis Envy, adding the thick, meaty structure and unmistakable physical traits that have made APE one of the most influential designer varieties in modern mycology.

One of Full Metal APE’s most striking characteristics is its remarkable coloration. Rather than displaying the bright white appearance commonly associated with albino genetics, many stabilized isolates develop metallic gray, silver, or bronze-toned caps contrasted against pale stems with dramatic cobalt-blue bruising. This unusual combination of colors gives the variety a bold, industrial aesthetic that inspired the name Full Metal APE.
