Description

Manna From Heaven (MFH) is a modern genetic created through an extensive isolation project led by the cultivator known as Manna From Heaven, whose work has become well respected among mushroom breeders for its focus on selective stabilization within the Penis Envy lineage. Rather than developing a hybrid through crossing different varieties, the project explored the natural genetic diversity found within a single multispore population.

The project began in 2021 with a single source of Penis Envy spores. As the cultures matured, Manna observed an exceptional range of naturally occurring phenotypes—far more variation than is typically expected from one genetic source. Instead of narrowing the project to a single desirable expression, numerous standout specimens were isolated, cloned, and evaluated over multiple generations to determine which traits could be consistently reproduced.

After approximately six months of careful selection and refinement, the project produced several stable expressions originating from the same original spore line. Among these were two revert phenotypes and one true albino, demonstrating the remarkable genetic diversity that can emerge from a single multispore culture when carefully observed and selectively stabilized.

MFH is admired for its thick, well-defined morphology, dense fruiting bodies, and carefully preserved characteristics. Because the variety was developed through isolation rather than hybridization, it represents a naturally selected expression of the Penis Envy lineage rather than the result of combining unrelated genetics. This breeding philosophy has made MFH a noteworthy example of what patient observation and selective refinement can accomplish.
