The lineage behind Starfrost represents the convergence of two influential families of modern mushroom genetics. Jack Frost, itself derived from True Albino Teacher (TAT) and Albino Penis Envy (APE), contributes its elegant albino characteristics and refined morphology. Starry Night APE, a carefully selected expression of the APE lineage, is recognized for its dramatic cap coloration and unmistakable visual appeal. Together, these parent genetics produce a cultivar with exceptional diversity and a truly distinctive appearance.

Starfrost is admired for its bold, sculptural morphology. Mature specimens commonly develop thick ivory-colored stems, broad caps, and dense fruiting bodies with little visible pigmentation.
