Halo Gates is a premium designer variety of developed by James Cruz of Shroomology Genetics as part of the renowned Gates Project. This exceptional cultivar was created by crossing TAT Black Cap (TBC) with Emerald Gates, combining two carefully refined modern lineages into a single genetic celebrated for its elegant albino appearance, impressive structure, and exceptional stability.

The lineage behind Halo Gates reflects years of thoughtful breeding and selective refinement. TAT Black Cap is a unique expression from the legendary True Albino Teacher (TAT) family, while Emerald Gates originated from a back-cross of Pearly Gates with a specially selected green-cap Melmak OG isolate. Together, these genetics connect Halo Gates to several of the most influential modern lineages, including True Albino Teacher, Melmak OG, and Pearly Gates.

Halo Gates is admired for its refined albino characteristics and bold morphology. Mature specimens commonly develop thick, sculpted stems, broad ivory to snow-white caps, and beautifully defined gills beneath a delicate veil. As the fruiting bodies mature or are handled, vivid cobalt-blue bruising contrasts dramatically against the bright white tissue, creating the striking appearance that has made Halo Gates one of the standout varieties in the Gates collection. As a true albino genetic, Halo Gates typically produces transparent or nearly transparent spores, a defining characteristic inherited from its TAT ancestry.
